Hat Day

The annual hat day is an elegant and high-end fashion fundraising event held at the beautiful Franklin Park Conservatory during the spring. This year, we were honored to be commissioned to create a stunning floral hanging stage design to compliment a circular runway.

Our team successfully executed the client's vision and, in fact, even surpassed their expectations with the stunning Poppy flowers taking center stage. A dozen of these striking flowers showcased a variety of different stages of development—from the initial bulb phase to the breathtaking full bloom—were meticulously crafted by our talented team, led by Jason Johnston, a renowned local sculptor. These exquisite flowers were skillfully constructed using heat-formed foam sheets, styrofoam, PVC, and fabric, ensuring that each piece captured the beauty and intricacy of real Poppies.

“Big Poppy” truly stole the show with its impressive 50-inch span, showcasing its magnificent petals in full bloom.
